Global shipments of desktop computers, notebooks and workstations fell 21.2% year-on-year to 58.1 million units in Q3, the research group Omdia said Friday.

Desktop shipments fell 23.5% to 11.7 million units, while notebooks declined 20.6% to 46.4 million units, the research firm said.

Apple (AAPL) shipments fell 11.3% to 6.8 million units, Dell (DELL) shipments fell 25.0% to 7.6 million units, and HP (HPQ) shipments fell 31.0% to 10.3 million units, Omdia said.

The research group attributed the declines in production to supply chain challenges, increases in memory and storage chip prices, and shortages of processors, graphics cards and components.

Omdia said it is forecasting a 24% year-on-year decline in the PC market in Q4, and a 7% decline in 2027.
