Ballard Power Systems (BLDP) won a 4.8-megawatt order from Siemens Mobility for 24 FCrail 200-kilowatt fuel-cell modules to power Romania's first hydrogen train fleet of 12 Mireo Plus H units, the company said late Tuesday.

Deliveries are planned for 2027 and 2028, with passenger service expected in 2029.

Ballard said the deal expands its supply partnership with Siemens Mobility, which has already rolled out hydrogen-powered Mireo trains in Germany.
