Amazon.com (AMZN) cut fewer than 1,000 jobs across several business units, including customer service, marketplace support and engineering roles in its retail business, as well as positions in India and the UK, Business Insider reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed to news outlets that the company eliminated a "small number" of roles, mainly in its stores business, as it adjusts its structure and priorities.
Amazon didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
