SoftBank Partners with Grab, Petroleum Sarawak to Explore AI, Digital Infrastructure Platform Development

SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) entered a framework agreement with Grab Holdings and Petroleum Sarawak to look into the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure platform in Sarawak, Malaysia, a Thursday release showed.

The parties will work together to create a detailed plan regarding the platform's phased development, the release showed.

The companies will also explore a range of AI-related opportunities, including AI compute and services, advanced technologies, robotics, local workforce, and community development.

Grab is a superapp in Southeast Asia operating across sectors, including deliveries, mobility, and digital financial services, while Petroleum Sarawak is Sarawak's state-owned integrated energy company.
