Alaska Air Group plans to triple its long-haul international network by 2030, leaning on its partnership with Japan Airlines (TYO:9201) to drive expansion into Asia, Nikkei Asia reported on Thursday, citing CEO Ben Minicucci in a recent interview.
The executive said destinations served from the carrier's home hub will reach 15 by 2030, according to the report.
Once complete, that lineup will lean more heavily toward Asia than Europe, adding that the weak yen has helped drive its expansion, the report said.
