SBI (TYO:8473) has extended its tender offer for BASE (TYO:4477) shares for a total of 34 business days to Oct 21, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Tuesday.
The extension follows notice that major shareholder Hiroyuki Maki will resume purchasing BASE shares from Oct 2, aiming to raise his stake above 30%.
SBI submitted an amendment statement to the Kanto Local Finance Bureau on Oct. 6 reflecting the corrected purchase period.
The offer price remains unchanged at 340 yen per share, with a maximum of 23.8 million shares sought to make BASE an equity-method affiliate.
Payment is now scheduled to begin Oct. 28, and no other conditions of the offer have been altered.
