Kodiak AI (KDK) and Charger USA said Thursday they are collaborating on autonomous freight delivery between Dallas and Laredo in Texas.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
Trucks equipped with the Kodiak Driver autonomous driving system are hauling refrigerated and dry freight for consumer packaged goods and food and beverage customers along the 435-mile route between Charger's terminals.
The companies completed their first delivery, with a safety driver behind the wheel, on Sept. 8 and expect to expand the collaboration to additional Charger routes over time. Kodiak plans to launch long-haul driverless service by the end of 2026, according to a joint statement.
