Hong Kong stocks edged lower Tuesday as investors remained cautious ahead of Nvidia's results.

The Hang Seng Index fell 6.23 points, to close at 25,511.10, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 25.99 points, or 0.3%, to finish at 8,445.37.

Technology stocks remained under pressure ahead of Nvidia's quarterly results, with investors looking beyond headline figures to assess whether the chipmaker's strong AI-related growth can be sustained.

Oil prices were broadly stable after retreating more than 2% in the previous session.

Markets also awaited Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole speech on Friday for further clues on the outlook for U.S. interest rates.

In corporate news, Ingenic Semiconductor (HKG:3223, SHE:300223) debuted in Hong Kong, closing flat at its offer price of HK$100.
