JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is easing a 135-day restriction on lending against shares of newly listed companies as Wall Street targets wealth created by initial public offerings of artificial intelligence companies, the Financial Times reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
JPMorgan told bankers ahead of SpaceX's (SPCX) IPO in June that it would lend against the company's shares, the FT said, citing the sources.
While no final decision has been made, JPMorgan bankers expect a similar approach when the Amazon.com (AMZN)-backed Anthropic goes public, as part of efforts being made to win business from the huge wealth being generated by the AI boom, the news outlet added.
JPMorgan Chase did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
