Tech stocks advanced Tuesday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 0.8% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 1.5%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 1.3%.
In corporate news, SpaceX (SPCX) plans to launch its first AI satellites run by Nvidia (NVDA) chips in Q4 2027, with the network expected to reach significant scale in 2028, Chief Executive Elon Musk said on X. SpaceX shares rose 2.7%, and Nvidia added 1.8%.
