Ford Names David Carroll as Head of Ford Energy

Ford Motor named David Carroll as president of its battery energy storage division, effective Aug. 31.

Carroll succeeds Lisa Drake, who will retire from Ford Energy at the end of the year.

Drake has spent 32 years at Ford, contributing to product development, powertrain engineering and the industrialization of Ford's electric vehicle portfolio and battery business.

Carroll joins from the renewable energy company ENGIE North America, where he served as chief executive and chief renewables officer. During his six-year tenure at Engie, he grew the company's renewables operating assets by more than 12 times.

He was recently the chair of the American Clean Power Association's board of directors.

At Ford Energy, Carroll will oversee the full scope of the division's end-to-end operations, including battery cell manufacturing, system assembly, commercial strategy and sales.
