Takeda Secures Japan Approval for Orzeyful to Treat Narcolepsy Type 1

Takeda Pharmaceutical (TAK) has received approval from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for Orzeyful to treat narcolepsy type 1 in adults, the company said Monday.

The approval was supported by data including phase 3 results showing the drug delivers statistically significant improvements in disease symptoms, Takeda said.

The company expects to launch the product as quickly as possible.

The drug has received similar approvals in US and China.
