Boeing (BA), Northrop Grumman (NOC), RTX (RTX), and Pratt & Whitney will be the principal contractors for a proposed sale of military aircraft and supporting systems to the Qatari government for estimated $4.5 billion, the US Department of State said Thursday.
The agency has approved the sale as it will "improve the security of a strategic regional partner" and enhance Qatar's defense capabilities, according to a statement.
Qatar has requested to purchase up to four KC-46A Aerial Refueling Aircraft and related equipment, as well as supporting services, systems, and software, the agency said.
