Ross Stores says demand from both new and existing customers grew in the latest quarter. The off-price retailer attracted new shoppers across a broad range of income levels and ages, while its existing customers spent more and visited its stores more frequently, Chief Executive Jim Conroy says during a call with analysts. Conroy cites the company's efforts to offer a broader selection of fashion and brands, as well as work to improve its marketing and in-store experience. He says he sees those initiatives driving further growth ahead. "While the results to date are encouraging, we believe we are only beginning to realize the full potential of many of our initiatives," Conroy says.
