Further shipments included 41,500 tonnes to Israel, 35,658 tonnes to the UAE, 27,000 tonnes to Turkey and 7,430 tonnes to Lebanon.\nApart from the volume shipped last week, an additional 185,300 tonnes of milling wheat are currently under loading.\nAround 946,061 tonnes of milling wheat are currently aboard vessels, with the entire volume remaining unallocated and no confirmed discharge destinations. In addition, 170,000 tonnes of barley are also on board vessels, all of which have no designated destination, pending allocation.\nOf the wheat volume shipped during the reporting week, 422,059 tonnes, or around 87%, were loaded at Novorossiysk, with the remaining 62,700 tonnes shipped from Tuapse. The concentration of shipments at Novorossiysk highlights the potential impact of the latest disruption on near-term Russian wheat exports.\nAs of August 13, more than 95% of Russia’s grain export capacity in the Azov-Black Sea basin was estimated to be offline, according to consultancy SovEcon. Navigation through the Azov region had been suspended since July, while the Taman grain terminal had been out of operation since late July. \nIn Novorossiysk, operations at NKHP and NZT were suspended following the August 12 attack, while KSK halted operations on August 13, leaving Tuapse as the only operating major grain terminal in the basin at the time.\nThe situation remained fluid, with some of the affected terminals potentially able to resume operations, but the disruption has sharply reduced Russia’s available Black Sea and Azov grain export capacity in the near term.\nSecurity concerns have also extended to Russia’s Baltic export infrastructure. A fire broke out at the port of Ust-Luga following an overnight drone attack on August 14, with local authorities reporting damage at the port.\nMarket sources said grain operations at Ust-Luga remained functional despite the attack, but concerns have emerged that further incidents could prompt shipowners and insurers to impose restrictions on calls at the port. Such restrictions could further narrow Russia’s available grain export routes while capacity in the Azov-Black Sea basin remains constrained.\nBefore the latest attacks on grain terminals in Novorossiysk, Russia’s August wheat exports were forecast at 2.7-3.1 million tonnes, down by 1.4-1.8 million tonnes, or 31-40%, from 4.5 million tonnes in August 2025.\nThis is well below the five-year average of 5 million tonnes for the month and could mark the lowest August volume since the 2016/17 season.\nCumulative wheat exports since the start of August reached 2.153 million tonnes as of August 6, excluding shipments to EAEU countries, down by approximately 49,000 tonnes, or 2.2%, from 2.202 million tonnes over the same period last year.","kind":"highlight","is_publish_news":true,"is_publish_highlight":false,"is_publish_live":false,"is_publish_wemedia":false,"editions":null,"column":"","sentiment":"0","news_tag":"merge","news_rank":0,"isVideo":false,"video":null,"symbols":[],"gpt_button":0,"need_auth":false,"need_login_tip":false,"code":"91000000","status":"200"}}}
