South Korea Approves Plan to Assess Jeonbuk as New Financial Hub

The South Korean Financial Hub Development Committee has approved a plan to assess Jeonbuk State as a new financial hub outside Seoul under its 7th financial hub policy for 2026-2028, according to a Wednesday release.
Under the new policy plan, aimed at broadening the financial centers, the committee will assess the province's suitability for designation as a financial hub and has approved the evaluation criteria and measures based on its study.
The committee assessment will include written and on-site reviews in the second half of 2026, with a final decision to designate Jeonbuk as a financial hub expected by year-end.
