India to Lease 2 MQ-9B Sea Guardians to Boost Maritime Surveillance

India's Ministry of Defense signed a contract with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems to lease two MQ-9B Sea Guardian high-altitude, long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft systems to the Indian Navy for 30 months, according to a Monday government statement.
The contract is valued at about 19.4 billion Indian rupees, the ministry said.
The aircraft will provide surveillance and reconnaissance coverage across the Indian Ocean Region.
