06:51 ET - Target's food and beverage sales grew in the latest quarter to $5.99 billion from $5.59 billion a year ago, as the retailer works to rejigger its store layouts. Target says it has transformed nearly half of its center-store grocery sections, adding more space for fresh food, snacks, bakery items and emerging categories. Post-transition, snack sales rose 15% year over year, the company says.
