Singapore's 2H Exports Likely to be Driven by AI-Related Tailwinds

0329 GMT - Singapore's 2H nonoil domestic exports momentum is likely to continue to be driven by artificial-intelligence-related tailwinds, UOB's Jester Koh says in a note. NODX rose 24.2% in July, extending June's 20.8% growth, amid strong AI-related demand. The July electronics PMI also improved, partly due to broad-based strengthening in new export orders, the associate economist notes. Substantial capital expenditure from major hyperscalers and technology firms through 2026 and 2027 should continue to support demand for memory chips, AI-related hardware and peripherals.
