Granite said it was awarded $31 million by Hydrostor, a long-duration energy storage developer, for its Willow Rock Energy Storage Center Project in California.

The Willow Rock center is a planned energy storage facility in the Mojave desert that is capable of powering more than 400,000 homes for eight hours, Granite said.

Granite's early works grading phase of the project began in July 2026, and is planned to conclude in March 2027.
