Spark New Zealand (ASX:SPK, NZE:SPK) said Tuesday its subsidized prepaid broadband program Skinny Jump is now connecting around one in five of those identified as having no internet access at home in the 2023 census.
The census said that around 170,000 households didn't have internet access at home and the program now connects nearly 35,000 households, the company said in a statement.
Over 100,000 households have been connected through the program since its launch in 2016, while the commercial value of subsidized broadband exceeded AU$9.1 million in fiscal 2025.
Skinny Jump operates on a not-for-profit basis.
Spark's shares rose nearly 1% on both the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
