Tivan (ASX:TVN) said Japan Australia Fluorite Associates, the company that owns the Speewah fluorite project in Western Australia, received a further funding tranche of AU$3 million under a grant from the Australian Government's International Partnerships in Critical Minerals program, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The funding will be used for the project's definitive feasibility study, which is slated for completion later this year, the filing said.

The company is advancing the study under an incorporated joint venture with Sumitomo and Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security, and in partnership with ETFS Capital, per the filing.

Tivan shares rose 2% in morning trade Wednesday.
