Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran is considering resignation ahead of the company's Aug. 18 annual general meeting, The Economic Times reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report said uncertainty remains over the AGM and how Tata Trusts will vote on his continuation. Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata is reportedly opposing Chandrasekaran's continuation in the role.

Tata Sons did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
