Stratasys Awarded $7.8 Million in Funding From America Makes, US Department of Defense

Stratasys (SSYS) said Tuesday it won $7.8 million in funding through America Makes and the US Department of War to advance industrial 3D-printing technologies.
The 24-month project will focus on developing in-situ quality-assurance and monitoring capabilities for the F3300 and F900 industrial FDM printing systems, the company said.
The technology aims to help aerospace and defense manufacturers verify part quality during production to lower inspection costs and accelerate output, Stratasys said.
Shares of the company were up 0.8% in Tuesday trading.
