1058 GMT - As AI inference moves into mainstream deployment, server demand is becoming the key driver of the NAND chip market, according to Counterpoint Research. Enterprise applications accounted for 48% of global NAND bit shipments in 2Q 2026, up from 26% a year earlier and on track to exceed half of total demand by year-end, the research firm says. Chinese memory maker YMTC has emerged as a beneficiary, climbing to No. 3 globally in NAND shipments and overtaking Kioxia for the first time. Although it still trails Kioxia and Micron in revenue, largely due to its lower-margin consumer-heavy product mix, YMTC is strengthening its position through expanding enterprise sales and continued technology advances, Counterpoint says.
