European Credit Default Protection Costs Steady Ahead of U.S. CPI Data

0900 GMT - The cost of default protection for euro-denominated credit is unchanged as markets await U.S. inflation data due to be released at 1230 GMT. Investors are keen to find out the impact of the energy supply disruptions on U.S. inflation, given the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict and rising inflation concerns, Deutsche Bank Research strategists say in a note. The iTraxx Europe Crossover index of euro high-yield credit default swaps is unchanged at 252 basis points, S&P Global Market Intelligence data show.
