Global-E Online Shares Gain on Higher 2Q Profit and Revenue, Outlook Boost

Shares of Global-e Online climbed after the company posted higher-than-expected profit and revenue in the second quarter, prompting an outlook raise.

The stock rose 13%, to $45.98, in premarket trading Wednesday. Through Tuesday's close, shares are up 20% over the past year.

The e-commerce enablement platform before the bell posted a profit of $47.7 million, or 27 cents a share, compared with $10.5 million, or 6 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings came in at 37 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of 29 cents a share.

Revenue jumped 39% to $299 million, ahead of Wall Street models for $283.1 million.

Chief Executive Amir Schlachet said the recent quarter's results were fueled by strong volumes from existing merchants, as well as strong initial performance from recently onboarded merchants.

For the third quarter, Global-e guided for gross merchandise value of $2 billion to $2.05 billion, as well as revenue of $308.5 million to $315.5 million. Adjusted Ebitda is projected to come in between $58.5 million and $62.5 million.

Analysts are looking for gross merchandise value of $2.02 billion, revenue of $294.9 million and adjusted Ebitda of $57.8 million.

For the year, the company now expects gross merchandise value of $8.81 billion to $9.11 billion, up from a prior outlook of $8.53 billion to $8.88 billion. Revenue is now projected to come in between $1.31 billion and $1.36 billion, up from between $1.22 billion and $1.28 billion. And adjusted Ebitda is forecast to be between $278 million and $300 million, up from $264.5 million to $289.5 million previously.

Analysts expect gross merchandise volumes of $8.77 billion, revenue of $1.28 billion and adjusted Ebitda of $277.3 million.
