LG Electronics Secures US FDA Clearance to Launch New Diagnostic Monitor

LG Electronics (KRX:066570) expanded its business-to-business medical device offerings by launching its 40HT513D, a 40-inch curved diagnostic monitor designed for image-based diagnosis in the US, according to a company release on Wednesday.
The South Korean consumer electronics company said that the launch comes after the device secured a US Food and Drug Administration clearance as a medical device, The Korea Times reported.
The new monitor features a 5,120-by-2,160 resolution, totaling 11 megapixels, allowing users to display multiple images and information simultaneously and can replace three separate 3-megapixel monitors used earlier.
