Indian stock exchange operator BSE (NSE:BSE) will replace technology company Wipro (NSE:WIPRO, BOM:507685) in the National Stock Exchange of India's benchmark Nifty 50 index, effective Sept. 30, according to a Monday filing by the NSE.

The change is part of NSE's semi-annual index review.

BSE has been added to the Nifty 50 because its six-month average free-float market capitalization was at least 1.5 times that of the index's smallest constituent, Wipro, the filing said.

The replacement will also apply to the Nifty50 Equal Weight index.
