0441 GMT - Deployment of humanoid robots could become large scale after 2035, say Barclays analysts in a research note. Much of the current humanoid hype reflects scripted demos, human-controlled teleoperation, or task-specific automation, rather than real general-purpose autonomy, they note. To achieve that, humanoid robots need "perception, reasoning, and adaptive behavior." Humanoid deployment may ultimately mirror autonomous vehicles, which took more than a decade. As a result, large-scale economic adoption is likely closer to 2035 than 2030, with near-term deployments focused on narrow, controlled industrial use cases, they say.
