Palantir Lifts Guidance as 2Q Revenue Nearly Doubles

Palantir lifted its full-year outlook after its revenue nearly doubled in the second quarter.

The technology company on Monday said it now expects between $8.15 billion and $8.16 billion in full-year revenue, including U.S. commercial revenue growing at least 134% to $3.42 billion.

Palantir previously forecast full-year revenue between $7.65 billion to $7.66 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet currently expect full-year revenue of $7.73 billion.

The company on Monday reported a second-quarter profit of $1.06 billion, or 41 cents a share, in the quarter ended June 30. That compares with a profit of $326.7 million, or 13 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, Palantir logged adjusted earnings of 41 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting 34 cents a share.

Revenue rose 93% to $1.94 billion. Analysts were expecting $1.81 billion in revenue.

Revenue from Palantir's U.S. commercial segment was up 149% to $764 million, while U.S. government revenue rose 90% to $809 million.

For the current third quarter, the company expects revenue of about $2.16 billion. Analysts are expecting $2 billion in revenue.

Shares of Palantir jumped 10% to $138.24 in after-hours trading on Monday. The stock closed up 2.1% at $125.65, down 29% this year.
