Thailand's Inflation Likely Accelerated in July

0644 GMT - Thailand's headline inflation likely accelerated in July, DBS economists say in a research report. The pickup would reflect firmer food price increases amid low base effects, and higher core inflation due to the pass-through of energy costs to consumers. Energy-driven inflation is also expected to remain high, after the re-escalation of tensions in the Middle East. DBS expects Thailand's headline inflation to accelerate to 3.0% on year in July, up from June's 2.4%. The Thai July CPI data are due this week.
