Singapore Shares Recover Soon After Weak Opening

Singapore shares opened in the red but recovered to clock gains in early trade on Tuesday, taking cues from the tech stocks rally on Wall Street.

The Straits Times Index opened lower by 0.1%, or 5.64 points at 5,606.64.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a record close on Monday, driven by shares of major tech companies. The decline in global oil prices after President Donald Trump called off planned strikes against Iran also provided investors with some optimism.
