Amgen Says Proprietary Data, Patient Health Info were Exfiltrated in Cyber Incident

Amgen said proprietary data and protected patient health information were exfiltrated from a cloud environment in a cybersecurity incident this month.

The biotechnology company's data was exfiltrated from a cloud environment hosted by a third-party provider, according to a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company deemed it a material incident due to the volume and potential sensitivity of impacted files.

Amgen said that its investigation, which is still ongoing, has not identified any impact to its products, financial reports, manufacturing, or ability to meet patient needs.

The company said that it doesn't currently believe that the incident will have a material impact on its results or financial conditions.

Amgen is slated to release its second-quarter results after the market closes on Tuesday.
