W.W. Grainger's top finance executive, Deidra Merriwether, is leaving the distributor of maintenance, repair and operating products and services to pursue another opportunity.
W.W. Grainger on Monday said Merriwether has resigned as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Lake Forest, Ill., company, effective Sept. 4.
Merriwether, who joined W.W. Grainger in 2013, has been finance chief since January 2021.
W.W. Grainger said it has launched a search for a new chief financial officer, adding that Laurie Thomson, who has been vice president, controller and principal accounting officer since May 2021, will step in as interim finance chief on Sept. 5.
