Sony Group (SONY) has submitted a non-binding proposal to acquire Tamron and make the camera lens manufacturer a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony, Tamron said Thursday.
The company confirmed it has established a Special Committee to review the proposal and explore options to enhance corporate value.
Tamron said recent media reports about a potential acquisition were not based on an official company announcement and added that no disclosure-worthy matters have been finalized at this time.
