BOE Decision Indicates a Move Towards Raising Rates

1159 GMT - The Bank of England's latest policy decision suggests the central bank is moving closer towards raising interest rates, eToro's Sam North says in a note. This is reflected in the 6-3 vote to leave rates steady, with Catherine Mann joining Megan Greene and Huw Pill in calling for a rate rise, he says. The BOE now risks being caught behind the curve, he says. "If higher energy costs feed into wages and prices, it may be forced into a later and more damaging increase." The threshold for a rate rise has clearly fallen, he says.
