Sony (TYO:6758) confirmed no casualties at its Kumamoto sites after the July 28 quake, but its Kumamoto Technology Center remains suspended as damage assessments continue.

The company's Nagasaki, Oita and Kagoshima centers sustained no significant damage, according to a statement.

In a separate disclosure, Renesas (TYO:6723) suspended operations at its Kawashiri and Nishiki factories with no injuries reported, with both plants sustaining structural damage- cracked walls.

Toyota (TYO:7203) will halt three Fukuoka plants from Wednesday evening through Friday to reassess safety and supply conditions before deciding on an Aug. 3 restart, Nikkei Asia reported on Wednesday.

This comes after the Miyata, Kokura and Kanda plants had resumed production Wednesday morning following a previous halt, the publication said.
