Nickel Industries (ASX:NIC) said the Excelsior nickel cobalt high-pressure acid leach (HPAL) project in Indonesia produced the first mixed hydroxide precipitate in July, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The precipitate will be processed further to nickel cathode in the project's refinery, with the first cathode expected in August. It was produced from limonite ore supplied by the firm's Hengjaya mine, also in Indonesia.
