Mizuho Financial Group's Profit Soars 46% in Fiscal Q1

Mizuho Financial Group (TYO:8411) profit attributable to owners of the parent soared 46% to 422.9 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, from 290.5 billion yen a year earlier.
The Japanese banking group's earnings per share increased to 173.53 yen from 115.90 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.
Ordinary income rose 18% year on year to 2.521 trillion yen for the period, from 2.130 trillion yen.
For fiscal year 2026, the group forecasts an attributable profit of 1.400 trillion yen and EPS of 575.08 yen.
Mizuho Financial plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 75.0 yen per share each for the year.
