Pfizer and BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccine for the 2026 to 2027 season received approval from the European Commission.
The vaccine targets the XFG variant and the companies said that data indicates that the formula draws a strong immune response against currently circulating and emerging lineages of the disease.
The companies will begin shipping the vaccines soon.
The authorization covers individuals six months of age and older.
