Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing or TSMC (TPE:2330) has gradually restarted operations at its JASM facility in Kumamoto, Japan, following a 7.1-magnitude earthquake, Reuters News reported Tuesday, citing an emailed statement.

All personnel were evacuated and confirmed safe, and structural inspections have cleared the site for resumed activity, though detailed assessments remain underway, the newswire said.

Construction work at the site remains partially on hold due to potential aftershocks, but the company reported no major damage to the facility, the publication said.

TSMC did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
