South Korea and the U.S. have jointly launched the Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding Partnership Center in Washington, advancing a planned $150 billion investment in the US shipbuilding sector, Yonhap News reported Friday.

South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan said that the new center, launched two months after the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cooperation in the sector, will support the revival of the US shipbuilding industry.
