GSK (GSK) said Friday that Health Canada approved a prefilled syringe presentation of its shingles vaccine, Shingrix, eliminating the need to reconstitute separate vials before administration.

The company said the approval was based on data demonstrating technical comparability between the new prefilled syringe and the existing presentation.

GSK said it expects the new format to become available in Canada in early 2027.
