Shares of Q32 Bio surged after the company said patients in the latest trial of its alopecia drug bempikibart saw a meaningfully significant reduction in hair loss.

The stock was up 81% at $20.25 in premarket trading. Shares had already tripled year-to-date at the end of last week.

The clinical stage biotechnology company said Monday that up to 40% of patients in its bempikibart trail regrew most of their hair. The drug also demonstrated a favorable safety profile.

The results support Q32's conviction that bempikibart has applicability across a broader autoimmune and inflammatory landscape, the company said.
