Island Pharmaceuticals (ASX:ILA) executed a statement of work (SOW) with the Texas Biomedical Research Institute to further advance Galidesivir's Animal Rule development for the treatment of Marburg Virus Disease, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Galidesivir is the company's clinical-stage antiviral molecule with a broad spectrum of activity in over 20 RNA viruses, including high-priority threats such as Ebola and Marburg, with the SOW providing the opportunity to advance a complementary Food and Drug Administration-directed dose optimisation study in a further 12 non-human primates.
The company's shares rose 10% in recent Monday trade, reaching their highest price since December 2025.
