The U.K. Debt Management Office raised approximately 4.8 billion pounds ($6.41 billion) through the reopening of the 1.75% Sept. 2038 index-linked gilt via a syndication, it said.

U.K. domestic investors were the dominant buyers of the gilt, taking around 89% of the allocation, the DMO said.

"I was particularly encouraged to see such strong participation from high-quality investors in [Tuesday's] transaction", DMO Chief Executive Officer Jessica Pulay said.

The transaction was the third syndication planned in the DMO's program in the fiscal year 2027, the DMO said.
