Rank One Computing's (ROC) threat detection platform ROC Watch earned a developmental testing and evaluation designation under the US Department of Homeland Security's anti-terrorism program, the company said Thursday.

This classifies the video analytics system as a qualified defensive technology undergoing continued federal evaluation, and provides legal liability protections to the company and its customers in the event of a terrorist incident, it said.

The software uses artificial intelligence to identify weapons, vehicles, and individuals to provide security alerts, Rank One Computing said.

Shares of the company were up 1.3% in Thursday premarket activity.
