Jet2's Booking Momentum Could Raise Earnings Expectations

1013 GMT - Jet2's earnings consensus estimates for fiscal 2027 will likely be pushed higher on the back of lower fuel costs and stronger booking momentum, J.P. Morgan says in a research note. Its analysts expect forecasts to rise by a range of around 6% to 8%. The London-listed company's summer trading has improved, supported by stronger late bookings after disruption linked to the Middle East conflict, JPM says. Pricing remains relatively soft but stable, reflecting a competitive U.K. market and continued investment in newer bases such as Gatwick, they add. Jet2's 250 million-pound share buyback is a positive surprise and a key support for shares, the bank says. Shares trade 8% higher at 1,464 pence. (nina.kienle@wsj.com)
