Japanese retailer AEON Co., Ltd. (TYO:8267) is mulling over expanding its shopping mall network in Vietnam to 30 locations by fiscal 2030, Nikkei reported Tuesday, quoting Keiji Ohno, president and CEO of Aeon Mall.

The retailer opened its latest shopping center, Aeon Mall Da Nang Thanh Khe, in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang last week, and the expansion includes mid-sized facilities not carrying the Aeon Mall brand.

Two new shopping centers, including the Thanh Hoa and Ha Long in Vietnam, are planned for the current fiscal year, and the group has already secured investment approval for a second center in Da Nang.
